MY STORY

How did I get here?

My roots go back east, to beautiful Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I graduated from Penn State University and headed west for a new beginning, following the death of my beloved mother from cancer.

Hospitality, I thought, was my career path. I landed a job at a five star hotel, serving people from all over the world, when the economy crashed in 2007/2008. It gave me a different perspective on the industry and I left. That job, however, introduced me to a wonderful friend who invited me to hike the Grand Canyon. I fell in love with the bottom of the canyon. Prepping, training, and completing the hike, over 7 times now, has brought me so much joy. I love bringing people down to Phantom Ranch, including my 71 year old uncle in 2021! My love for the canyon runs deep. It’s why I named my business Bright Angel Insurance, after the most famous trail at the Grand Canyon, Bright Angel Trail.

Pivoting to Human Resources/People Operations, this became my second career. It was this role where I was introduced to benefits and managing employer insurance. I immediately gravitated toward this concentration of HR and grew in knowledge and expertise. I enjoyed serving my new clients, restaurant employees, for 11 years!

One year into COVID, I pivoted a third time, becoming an employee benefits broker. To perform my job servicing clients, I was required to obtain my insurance license. I had no idea what God was preparing me for at that time.

Three years as an employee benefits broker, and a growing family with three young children, it became clear that I must pivot again. I continued to see a need for my clients when it came to Medicare support. I launched my small business in 2024. Proud to provide a much needed service to wonderful people utilizing my expertise in health insurance, sparked joy. I could not have envisioned this path 20 years ago!

Through it all, my amazing husband of 10 years, and friend for 20+, has supported me along the way. Rob’s moved across the country, twice for me. He’s endured multiple trips across and down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. He’s always up for an adventure. Our greatest adventure is raising our three children, Annabelle (8), Liam (6) and Callum (18 months). We are the White Family, and we look forward to getting to know you!

Want to experience the Bright Angel Trail? Rob made The Epic Mockumentary in 2021 for fun when we journeyed down South Kaibab Trail and spent two nights at Phantom Ranch. Along for the hike was my cousin Daniel, and 71 year old Uncle Ted. That’s right, 71 - be inspired! The ascent up, day 3, is a rainy glimpse of The Bright Angel Trail. Enjoy!
